Va. Man Takes Own Life After Stabbing Rest Area Custodian, Police Say

Virginia State Police say the man who stabbed a custodian at a rest stop along I-66 Wednesday morning took his own life two hours later.

Khalif Privott, 21, of Manassas stepped in front of an oncoming train in Warren County, Virginia, just before 8:30 a.m.

The train was not able to stop in time, and Privott died at the scene, police said. His abandoned vehicle was found at the scene.

Two hours before his death, police say Privott stabbed a 60-year-old custodian multiple times at a rest area along I-66 westbound in Prince William County.

The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the investigation into the attack and suicide are ongoing.
