Prince William County Man Accused of Making Threat Against Virginia Commonwealth University

A Prince William County man is behind bars after police say he made a threat against Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU).

Police say 22-year-old Nathaniel Brache sent a text message to someone he knew on Saturday that referenced the recent mass shooting at an Oregon community college and warned the man to stay away from VCU.

VCU Police say the man who received the text message is not affiliated with the university but contacted police with the information.

Investigators with the campus police department were able to trace the threat to a home on Torrence Place in Woodbridge and contacted Prince William County Police. According to the VCU Police Department, Brache said he sent the text to anger the man he sent it to.

Brache has been charged with phone threats.
