Virginia Railway Express has canceled Friday morning service on its Manassas line.

The rail system said that low-hanging power lines in the Alexandria area are blocking the tracks on which the line operates. It said Dominion Power is addressing the situation, but crews may not be able to start until noon at the earliest.

VRE said its passengers can instead ride Metro for free by showing their VRE ticket to a Metro station manager when entering and exiting the transit system.

There were also delays on the Fredericksburg line Friday morning, as well, because of flash flooding. Trains will run at reduced speed.
