VDOT Plans Major Lane Closures on I-95 Aug. 12 – 16

Late-night drivers on Interstate 95 in northern Virginia can expect slow going next week.

The Virginia Department of Transportation will be doing bridge work around the Franconia-Springfield Parkway overpass. The work is part of upgrades to the express lanes and will require three lanes of northbound I-95 to be closed north of the Pohick Road overpass. Only one lane will be able to get past the work area.

The lane closures will begin at 9 p.m. each night starting Monday, with all three lanes closed by midnight. The work will continue through Saturday, weather permitting.
