Police Release Composite Sketches in Virginia Handyman Slaying

Investigators seek help identifying culprits

Fairfax County police have released two composite sketches of the men wanted after Monday’s fatal home invasion attempt in Centreville, Va.

The older suspect is in his late 20s to mid-30s. He has a darker complexion and is believed to be the gunman, police said. He speaks with a distinct raspy voice and is possibly a heavy smoker. He was called “Slim” by the younger suspect.

The second suspect is believed to be 20 to 25 years old.

Jose Ramiro Rosales Cardona, 39, of Manassas, was killed during an altercation with the two in the garage area of a home along Compton Road.

Cardona worked as a handyman at the mansion. He was married, with two children. Residents of the mansion said Cardona died defending them.

Police have also released a photo of a white Toyota pickup truck with tinted windows that is similar to one seen near the scene of the crime.
