Unsolved Murder Outside Wedding Hall in Northeast D.C.

7 years later, crime still unsolved

Seven years after a deadly shooting outside of a wedding reception in D.C., the bride spoke with News4 in an exclusive interview.

"It's just unbelievable. you see that in movies," said the bride, who asked News4 not to use her name. "It's not something you expect to live through, on your wedding day or any day."

The reception was at St. Francis Hall in the Brookland neighborhood of Northeast Washington.

Outside the building - two gunmen robbed and assaulted a group of guests.

The bride says her best friend and bridesmaid were beaten in the attack.  She said the bridesmaid's mother was pistol whipped.

The bridesmaid's father George Longshore, tossed his wallet to the gunmen, before he was fatally shot.  Longshore died at the hospital shortly after.  The wallet contained less than $100.

After 7 years and no arrests, police are taking a fresh look at the evidence and hoping some new investigators may be able to close the case.
