In 2010, the Canadian men's hockey team defeated the United States in overtime to win gold in Vancouver, a devastating blow that still stings Americans to this day.

Friday afternoon, the U.S. will have its first opportunity to exact revenge in a semifinal matchup four years in the making.

The Americans have arguably been the most dominant team so far in the Olympic tournament, having scored 20 goals in four games, on pace for more than any other NHL-based Olympic team in U.S. history. Meanwhile, Canada squeaked into the semifinals with a 2-1 victory against 11th-seeded Latvia in a game that was way too close for comfort for the hockey-crazed nation.
