Undercover Cops Arrest 23 Men in Prostitution Sting at Va. Hotels

Officers communicated with the men online and arranged to meet them at hotels

More than 20 men were arrested last week after visiting Fairfax County hotels in hopes of meeting prostitutes there -- but the women they'd solicited online turned out to be undercover police officers, authorities said.

The officers communicated with the men online and arranged to meet them at hotels in Springfield, Falls Church, Herndon and Tysons Corner, Fairfax County Police said Wednesday.

Police charged 23 men with solicitation of prostitutes in the sting. One man was also charged with possession of cocaine.

Local hotels can request this type of sting to proactively prevent illegal activity at their businesses, authorities said.
