An infant was found unconscious with traumatic injuries in the Fort Dupont neighborhood of Southeast Washington, D.C., on Sunday, police said.
The baby was found in the 4300 block of G St. SE at about 1:30 p.m. with several injuries and was not breathing, police said.
The infant was in grave condition as of Monday morning.
No arrests have been made and no suspect has been identified. The Metropolitan Police Department's Special Victims Unit is investigating.
Authorities have not said how they believe the baby was injured.
