Prince George's County Police are investigating the robbery of a University of Maryland student in his off-campus apartment.

Investigators say the robbery took place shortly after noon Friday in the 8400 block of 48th Avenue. Investigators say that whoever committed the robbery kicked in the front door while the student was asleep, before striking him on the head with a hard object and fleeing the scene with some undisclosed personal property.

The student, whose name has not been released, was taken to a local hospital, where he was treated for his injuries and released.

Police have not released a description of any suspects in the case. Anyone with information is asked to call Prince George's County Police at (301) 699-2601, 1-866-411-8477, or text 274637.
