Teen Shot and Killed in Woodbridge, Another Wounded

A 19-year-old was killed and a 15-year-old was wounded in a shooting in Prince William County early Sunday morning, police said.

Earlier in the evening, 19-year-old Christopher Nathaniel Weaver and a 15-year-old friend went to another house to pick up the 15-year-old's younger sister, relatives said. Words were exchanged at that house, and shortly after Weaver, the 15-year-old and the girl entered a house in the 13400 block of Keating Drive, someone knocked on the door.

Weaver's mother opened the door to two men, Weaver's cousin Stephanie Goodwin said, and they started shooting.

Weaver was taken to one hospital and flown from there to another hospital before he died. The 15-year-old is expected to recover.

A woman at the house where Weaver and his friend picked up the girl told Northern Virginia Bureau Chief Julie Carey that no men had been at her house before the shooting.

Detectives said this was not a random incident and the investigation continues.

Weaver was a recent graduate of New Directions High School and recently started a new job.
