Two Shot, One Dead in Petworth

    A good samaritan tries to help a man and winds up getting robbed by him.

    Metropolitan Police Department detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that took place on the 600 block of Harvard Street NW.

    At about 12:56 a.m. early on Sunday, police responded to a report of a shooting. They discovered two victims who had shot. D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services took both victims to local hospitals.

    Minutes after his discovery by police, Silver Spring resident Michael Manuel Moss-Cornish, 22, was pronounced dead as a result of his injuries. The other victim was treated and released.

    Police have not identified a suspect or a motive in the shooting. The Metropolitan Police Department offers a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction of suspects in any D.C. homicide.
