Two Rescued From NE DC Apartment Fire

Two people were rescued from a northeast Washington, D.C., apartment fire early Sunday morning.

Fire officials said the fire was confined to a second-floor apartment located at the 900 block of 52nd Street, Northeast around 7:15 a.m. The two people inside the building were not seriously injured.

D.C. Fire and EMS said the apartment where the fire started was supposed to be abandoned, but there were people inside of it during the time of the fire. They said no one was transported to the hospital.
