Two Men Shot, Killed in Separate DC Incidents

Two men were shot and killed in separate incidents in Washington early Saturday morning.

The first incident occurred at approximately 12:56 a.m. when officers responded to a call for the sound of a gunshot in the 3400 block of 13th Place, Southeast.

Upon arrival, they located an unconscious adult male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded and transported Wesley West, 25, of Washington, to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

The second incident occurred at approximately 1:43 a.m. in the 1300 block of Riggs Street, Northwest.

Officers again found an adult male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Charles Douglas, 33, of District Heights, Maryland, was taken to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

Investigators have not released any suspect or motive information in either case.
