Two Men Accused of Robbing Woman They Met Online

Two men have been charged in connection with the armed robbery of a woman they met online.

The woman arranged to meet with a man at the Days Inn Hotel in the 9800 block of Washington Boulevard in Laurel, Maryland. He arrived with another man about 1:10 p.m. Tuesday.

When the woman answered the door, Thomas Dwayne Brumfield, 37, and Lorenzo Alexander Moore II, 35, forced themselves into her room and knocked the woman over, police said. One suspect threatened her with a gun and the other tied up her hands and feet. The suspects stole cash and other personal effects and fled, police said.

Police developed Brumfield and Moore as suspects. Howard County police found Brumfield Wednesday at a Capitol Heights motel and took him into custody without incident. On Thursday, Moore was arrested by police in Washington, D.C. He was charged with possession of stolen property.

Brumfield and Moore were each charged with armed robbery, robbery, home invasion, first- and second-degree assault, false imprisonment, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and two counts of theft.

Brumfield is being held at the Howard County Detention Center on $500,000 bond.
