Two Killed, Girl Hurt After Crash in Great Falls, Virginia

A woman and a man are dead and a teenager was hurt after a crash in Fairfax County, Virginia, police said.

Police said a car went off the road and hit a tree on Saturday evening in the 10500 block of Beach Mill Road in Great Falls, Virginia.

The driver, 26-year-old Benjamin Wenger, of Annandale, and a passenger, 23-year-old Abigail Ryan, of Great Falls, were pronounced dead on the scene.

Another passenger, a 15-year-old girl, who was in the backseat was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Great Falls resident Mandi Bearsch said she was playing with her kids nearby, when she heard the crash.

"Horrific. Loud. [I] immediately jumped up and came to the end of the driveway and saw it was a car accident and just ran down there," Bearsch said.

Bearsch called 911 and the dispatcher asked if anyone was breathing. She saw that Wenger and Ryan were not and the teen girl in the back seat was conscious and talking.

"The girl in the back seat was moving and I tried to talk with her, 'Okay, don’t move, don't move,'" said Alline Silva, who also came to help after hearing the crash.

Car parts were seen scattered in a nearby pond on Sunday and bouquets of roses and a cross appeared underneath the tree to remember Wenger and Ryan.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
