Two Juveniles Arrested in Sunday's Metropolitan Branch Trail Robberies

Two juvenile males are accused of a series of weekend robberies in northeast D.C., including four along the Metropolitan Branch Trail.

The trail robberies occurred between 11 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Sunday. In each incident, a male with a knife approached a person walking or running along the trail and demanded their property. Each time, the victim complied and the assailant fled. In one of the incidents, two males ran behind a female jogger but only one brandished a knife.

While searching for suspects, police said the crimes could be related.

Tuesday evening, police arrested two juveniles in the 1800 block of Bladensburg Road NE in connection with the trail robberies.

They were also charged in a fifth robbery that occurred Monday evening in the 700 block of Edgewood Street NE. A knife was displayed in that incident as well.

As the suspects are juveniles, their names and ages are not being released.
