Two Dogs Poisoned in Leesburg

Owner: "I don't understand how anybody would hurt them."

A Leesburg woman wants justice after her two dogs were apparently poisoned earlier this week.

"I'm on the verge of tears," Raleigh told News4's Shomari Stone.

Investigators say that Raleigh's dogs--a 7-year-old poodle named Hank and a 6-year-old terrier named Fiona-- apparently ate cheese that had been laced with poisonous antifreeze and thrown into the backyard. The dogs began vomiting and behaving oddly last weekend.

Earlier this week, both dogs' kidneys began to shut down. Raleigh was told that nothing else could be done, and the dogs were euthanized.

Raleigh says that she only ever received one complaint about the dogs, and that came from a neighbor who later moved out of state.

"They wouldn't hurt anybody," Raleigh said, "so I don't understand how anybody would hurt them."
