Two drivers were killed in a head-on collision in Montgomery County.
"Her kids are in shock, her husband is in shock, it's just a nightmare."
Those are the words of 37-year old Nadia Nawaz's mother-in-law. She was just one of many family members that gathered to remember Nawaz on Sunday. The Rockville mother was killed in a tragic car crash on Saturday morning.
The accident occurred in the southbound lane of Old Georgetown Road. Nawaz was driving a Toyota Sienna when a 64-year-old man driving a 1994 Buick Roadmaster crossed into her lane and struck her. Both Nawaz and the man, Donald Duvall of Chevy Chase, were killed on impact.
Nawaz's family is in shock describing her sudden death as a life taken too soon.
"I don’t agree with whoever planned this thing up and above, it’s a mother…too young, extremely young," Taimur Ahya-ud-din said.
Meanwhile, investigators have ruled out drugs or alcohol as a factor in the crash. They are now waiting for the results of an autopsy that could determine whether Duvall may have been suffering from a Medical Condition when the crash occurred.
"She's probably one of the best mothers I know, honestly speaking… it's not a person that left us, an entirely family is affected by this thing…I honestly still can't believe that she is gone," Ahya-ud-din said.
