A two-car accident is causing backups on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway near Bowie.
One vehicle struck the car in front of it on the northbound lanes of the Parkway, near Route 197. The car was forced into the grass and wooded area on the shoulder.
One northbound lane has been closed for the accident.
Police report one driver has minor injuries.
Tow trucks cleared the incident by 8 a.m.
