Truck Overturns, Spills Mail Onto I-270 in Md.

This week has been a rough one for mail and package deliveries.

Letters littered I-270 in Rockville, Md., Thursday morning after the U.S. Postal Service truck they were in overturned Thursday morning.

Maryland State Police responded to the scene in the northbound lanes of I-270 near Shady Grove Road around 7:30 a.m.

No one was injured. The cause of the accident is not known at this time.

Shipping problems at UPS and FedEx delayed  some gifts from Santa earlier this week. Both companies blamed overloaded systems and poor weather for the unfulfilled deliveries.
