Truck Driver Charged in I-66 Crash

A tractor-trailer driver has been charged in an accident that snarled traffic Tuesday morning on Interstate 66 in northern Virginia.

Virginia State police said James Hawkins of Clinton, Md., was charged with reckless driving for overturning his truck as he exited the ramp from the southbound Capital Beltway to westbound
I-66.

Police said speed was a factor in the crash, which closed westbound I-66 for three hours Tuesday morning.

Hawkins was not injured in the crash, and no other vehicles were involved.

The truck was hauling plumbing materials.
