Trial for Fatal Arlington Skateboarding Accident Begins Thurs.

The trial of an Arlington teen charged in a deadly skateboarding accident will begin Thursday.

John Malvar, 18, was skateboarding and holding onto the door of a car driven by his 17-year-old friend on June 4 on Highland Street. Malvar lost his balance, struck his head on the side of the road and later died at George Washington University Hospital.

The 17-year-old driver was later charged with reckless driving. 

Both teens were students at Washington-Lee High School.
