Trial Delayed Again in Slaying of Redskins' Sean Taylor

Trial is being delayed yet again for the alleged shooter in the 2007 slaying of Washington Redskins star safety Sean Taylor.

The trial of 23-year-old Eric Rivera Jr. will not begin Monday as scheduled, a Miami-Dade County courts spokeswoman said Tuesday. The reasons given were scheduling conflicts and availability of witnesses.

A new trial date will be set Monday. There have been numerous delays.

Rivera and four others from the Fort Myers area were charged with killing Taylor during a botched robbery at the player's home near Miami. One suspect pleaded guilty to murder and burglary charges.

Rivera and the others pleaded not guilty and are being tried separately. Each faces a possible life sentence if convicted.

Before the NFL, Taylor starred at the University of Miami.
