Thieves have made off with a van containing treats and care packages for overseas troops and those in the hospital.

The van was stolen from outside the home of Treats 4 Our Troops founder Yael Roggen in Arlington, Roggen told NBC4's Angie Goff.

"In addition to all our personal items, in the van was a lot of candy, some boxed up ready to go, and bags made up for Wounded Warriors that were going to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and Fort Belvoir," she told NBCWashington.com.

"We always have candy in the vehicle. There was activity in the neighborhood [Monday night]; they had gone through other vehicles, looking for change in the consoles.... [But] our car keys were in the house," Roggen said. "We have no idea how they made off with the van."

Treats 4 Our Troops sends hundreds of pounds of candy and other goodies to troops every year following Halloween. The group was founded in 2007 by Roggen, who at the time had a friend who was deployed.

"I do a big collection [of candy] after Halloween," she said. "We collect 3,000 to 5,000 pounds of candy each year. It's spread everywhere from Massachusetts to California. As soon as I get money to mail, I mail."

Her 2007 Gold Honda Odyssey vanished sometime between Monday at 9 p.m. and early Tuesday morning. Roggen said that her stolen debit card was used at Best Buy and Macy's in Bowie, Md. Some of her children's artwork was found in another neighborhood Tuesday evening.

If you see the van, please report it to police. It has "Support Our Troops"-themed Virginia license plates with the tag T40T2.
