The Virginia Department of Transportation is shutting down all northbound lanes of I-395 at the Beltway at 9 p.m. Friday. The closure is between exits 52-A and 57-B.

There will be a detour that VDOT says can add an extra 15-20 minutes to your trip.

The closures are to accomodate reconstruction for the I-495 Express Lanes project.

All lanes on I-395 will be open again by 7 a.m. Saturday.
