Tractor Trailer Spills Ink Onto I-95N in Va.

Blue ink spilled across I-95 northbound Wednesday night after the tractor trailer carrying it was rear-ended. Road crews were still working to clean the ink out of the road Thursday morning, leaving traffic tied up for most of the morning commute.

Police say the tractor trailer was near exit 156 in Dale City when another tractor trailer ran into it. Neither driver was injured, but the impact of the crash damaged the rear of the first tractor trailer, causing it to leak its contents.

Authorities say the ink had to be completely drained from the trailer before the tractor trailer could be removed.

At one point, a 6-mile backup was reported in the area.

Police say the exit ramp should open shortly.
