Tractor Trailer Enters Construction Zone; Worker Killed

A construction worker was killed Thursday morning when a tractor trailer entered a construction zone on I-95 and struck several vehicles.

Maryland State Police say the tractor trailer driver, 43-year-old Jeremy Ray Bolden of Charlotte, North Carolina, was traveling in the northbound lanes when he entered a construction zone near the ICC just after 1:30 a.m.

Bolden's tractor trailer stuck two construction vehicles, including one that 62-year-old Randy Jury of Halifax, Pennsylvania was standing beside. The crew of contract workers was doing guardrail work for the Maryland State Highway Administration at the time of the accident.

Jury was taken to Laurel Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Bolden was also transported to a local hospital. He is expected to be OK.

There's no word on whether any charges will be filed.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
