Firefighters are responding to the Friendship Heights Metro station for a report of a track fire.

Metro called the problem an arcing insulator, which is when an insulator along the third rail gives off sparks or smoke.

Red Line trains are single-tracking between Friendship Heights and Medical Center. Riders should expect delays in both directions.
