A 36-year-old Maryland man is accused of stealing from the cars his company would tow, including those towed by the Anne Arundel Police Department.

According to police, a concerned citizen reported items were being stolen from cars towed by Schaefer's Towing, located in the 4400 block of Belle Grove Road in Baltimore.

Following an investigation, the towing company's owner, Matthew Schaefer, was arrested and charged with theft and other related offenses.

The police department says they have removed Shaefer's Towing from their "tow rotation list."
