Tornado Confirmed in Virginia

A storm that damaged a shed and trailer and knocked down trees near Machipongo, Va., was a tornado, according to the National Weather Service.

Weather service meteorologist Mike Montefusco told The Virginian-Pilot that the F-0 tornado left a path of damage about 30 yards wide and a quarter of a mile long as it moved through the area Monday afternoon.

One person was injured.
