Authorities took a toddler to Children’s Hospital after he was found in a car involved in a shooting and police chase in Prince George’s County, Md.

Two homeless men shot during a robbery in the 7900 block of Riggs Road in Adelphi Tuesday afternoon were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Two men in a car were taken into custody following a brief chase in which they drove in reverse at high speed on East-West Highway, News4’s Jackie Bensen reported.

Police found the little boy upon making the apprehensions. He was in a car seat and is OK. Authorities have released him to his mother.

The shooting victims have been released from the hospital.

An officer also suffered injuries believed to be minor, police said, but shots were not fired at police, Bensen reported.
