Arrest Made in Friday Morning Homicide

    Less than 12 hours after the incident, an arrest has been made in the fatal shooting of 36-year-old Mikey Ledbetter.

    According to police, Ledbetter was found suffering from a gunshot wound at approximately 5:30 a.m. in the 1600 block of 18th Street SE. He was transported to a local hospital where he later passed from his injuries.

    Friday afternoon, officers arrested 27-year-old Melvin Quick of Southeast D.C. and charged him with first degree murder while armed in Ledbetter's death.

    The circumstances around the shooting remain unknonw, but police initially told news outlets three men were wanted in connection with the incident.
