Three people were shot early Sunday morning in the parking lot of a Fredericksburg, Virginia, restaurant.

A Spotsylvania County detective was in the area of the 10600 block of Spotsylvania Avenue when he heard numerous gunshots from the parking lot of the Kabab City. He called for additional units and entered the business, which was hosting a “Go-Go” party.

The detective said about 50 to 60 people began running in different direction in an attempt to leave the scene. Police found one person, a 24-year-old man from Colonial Beach, lying in the parking lot and he was transported to Mary Washington Hospital.

He underwent emergency surgery and was listed in serious condition.

Investigators discovered two other victims were transported to the same hospital suffering from gunshot wounds. A 33-year-old man from Spotsylvania was treated for a single gunshot wound and an 18-year-old from Maryland was listed in critical condition from several gunshot wounds.

The investigation is continuing and anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office at 540-582-7115.
