Three people, including a child, were pulled from a deep hole Monday evening after the steps on which they were standing collapsed.
Two women and a child were standing on the landing of concrete steps outside an Arlington home when the landing gave way, sending them into a hole that was 10 to 15 feet deep.
The Arlington County Fire Department technical rescue team was called to the scene in the 900 block of N. Madison Street. They quickly freed the victims.
The women were taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The child was injured, but did not need hospitalization.
