Thousands Without Power After Prince William County Accident

Thousands of people in Prince William County are without power after an early morning car accident damaged two power poles.

Nearly 2,000 customers are currently without power, according to Dominion Virginia Power.

The car accident, which happened at about 2:30 a.m. Monday, damaged two poles on Grand Park Road so badly that they will need to be replaced, a Dominion spokesman told WTOP.

Traffic lights in the area are also affected by the outage.

The power company hopes to restore power by Monday afternoon.
