Thieves Hitting Loudoun County Homes in Broad Daylight

Investigators in Loudoun County, Va., believe a string of home break-ins may be connected.

The five burglaries happened in Leesburg and Middleburg areas, law enforcement said. The first was in November. The latest case was last Thursday.

The thief or thieves targeted the homes during the middle of the day when no one was home. High price items including jewelry, electronics, cash and silver were stolen. In one case, a front door was broken.

No one is in custody.

Loudoun County officials are looking to see if the five break-ins are linked to several other burglaries near the Fauquier County line.
