GET YOUR CORNHOLE ON IN ARLINGTON
If you’re a fan of the beanbag-tossing game of cornhole, Clarendon Grill (1101 North Highland Street) is the place to be tonight. The bar will be hosting pick-up cornhole games starting around 7:00 p.m. There will also be free passes to the new movie Despicable Me, courtesy of the Arlington Athletic and Social League.

For the serious cornhole competitor, AASL still has a few spots open for its summer cornhole league at Clarendon Grill. Now in its second year, the 10 team league plays six regular season games on Tuesday nights. The season starts next week on June 8. (ARLNow)

POT COULD BE PROFITABLE FOR DC TAX COFFERS
A tax on medical marijuana could generate some $400,000 for Washington over the next five years, according to information provided by the city on Tuesday.
The D.C. Council has proposed taxing marijuana as part of budget negotiations. Council members are expected to vote June 15 on a budget that includes a provision that would impose the city's 6 percent sales tax on medical marijuana sold in D.C.

The finance office says that an ounce of marijuana is expected to cost an average of $350. Adding the 6 percent tax would mean users would pay another $21 in taxes. (WTOP)

DC 2ND ON GREEN ROOF LIST
A green roof industry group says Washington and Baltimore are among the leaders nationwide in installation of the environmentally friendly roofs.

Green Roofs for Healthy Cities says Chicago led the country last year with more than 500,000 square, feet while Washington was second with about 190,000 square feet of green roofs. Baltimore was fourth with almost 100,000 square feet.

Green roofs are covered with plants that reduce stormwater runoff, filter pollutants and cut heating and cooling costs.

930 CLUB ANNIVERSARY BRINGS THE ROCK
If you walked into the 9:30 club on Monday night, you walked out with serious bragging rights.

Hardcore punk legends Henry Rollins, Ian MacKaye and Bob Mould in the same room? Dave Grohl reuniting with Scream and covering Bad Brains? The Slickee Boys' 80th (eight-ee-yuth!) gig at the 9:30?

Yep, check, ditto and then some.

Because this wasn't any old night on V Street N.W. - this was the 9:30 club's 30th anniversary bash, a five hour fete that included performances from Trouble Funk, Ted Leo, Clutch, Tiny Desk Unit, Tommy Keene, the Pietasters and a surprise set from Grohl that had fans leaping in the air before the guy even picked up his guitar.  (Washington Post)
