MANASSAS MAN CHARGED WITH RUNNING BROTHEL
Inside NoVA: "Manassas police have arrested city resident Shane Taylor for operating a brothel at his residence.

Detectives executed a search warrant Monday at 2 a.m. at 8555 Yoder St., off Wellington Road.

The search warrant was obtained after police received “credible information” that Taylor has been operating and maintaining a bawdy place for the past five months, said city police Sgt. Tim Neumann."

MORE 'DROPOUT FACTORY' HIGH SCHOOLS IN MD THAN IN 2002
Washington Examiner:"The number of high schools where fewer than 60 percent of students graduate declined nationwide, but in Maryland 10 more of these "dropout factories" popped up.

Between 2002 and 2008, the U.S. saw a 13 percent drop in high schools where at least 40 percent of students fail to graduate, from 2,0007 in 2002 to 1,746 in 2008, according to a study of government data by America's Promise Alliance, Civic Enterprise, and Johns Hopkins University."

ABDO'S GASLIGHT GETS THE GREENLIGHT
Washington Business Journal: "Abdo Development has scored construction financing for its $82 million Gaslight Square condo project in Rosslyn.

Federal Capital Partners provided the equity/mezzanine debt for the project, and United Bank will provide construction financing. David Webb and Jamie Butler of Cassidy Turley acted as advisers to Abdo on the financing."

SMITHSONIAN REMOVES VIDEO AFTER GROUP COMPLAINTS

WTOP: "The Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery is removing a video installation after complaints from a Catholic group that the images were sacrilegious.

Catholic League President Bill Donohue told the New York Post on Tuesday the video by artist David Wojnarowicz was "hate speech." He says the video with ants crawling on a crucified Christ figure was designed to insult Christians."
