Water Restriction to Remain until Tuesday; Early Tests Show 'Potential' Bacteria

Water use restrictions for all WSSC customers will remain in effect until at least Tuesday, pending satisfactory test results from water in the repaired 8-foot main in Potomac, WSSC officials said Monday afternoon. Two of four samples showed "potential" bacteria, but all four showed enough chlorine to counter it, said Jim Neustadt, a spokesman for the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission. (Gazette.net)

Local Soldier Loved Her Job

Spc. Morganne McBeth was an enthusiastic soldier who loved her work as a paratrooper, her brother said yesterday. McBeth, 19, died Friday in Iraq, the military announced Saturday. "She was just an amazing person and all of us miss her greatly," said her brother, Army Sgt. Christopher McBeth, who is stationed at Joint Base Lewis McChord in Washington state with the 47th Combat Support Hospital, 62nd Medical Brigade. (Frederickburg.com)

Rare Strasburg Card on Display

We've told you that a one-of-a-kind Stephen Strasburg baseball card was pulled off eBay at the last minute after its owner couldn't verify the bids were genuine. Now, you can see that rare card for yourself. It will be on display this coming weekend at a sport collectibles trade show at the Dulles Expo Center, before it goes on auction July 14th. It's a special 2010 Bowman Chrome Superfractor card, autographed and numbered 1 of 1.
