Phony text messages have been hitting the phones of Prince William County residents, police say. The texts say that recipients have missed jury duty at the nonexistent "Manassas county courthouse" and that they are in violation.
Concerned residents have reported the texts to the Prince William County Courthouse, which says that the clerk's office does not sent text messages.
If you've received a text about jury duty, the clerk's office says you should ignore it and contact the courthouse at circuitcourt@pwcgov.org.
