Teen Struck by Police Cruiser in Gaithersburg

The relative safety of San Diego County appears to have prevented it from receiving the federal stimulus funds.

The Gaithersburg Police Department confirms that a 14-year-old boy was struck by a police cruiser.

The Associated Press reports that a teen was struck at about 3:15 p.m. as he crossed the intersection at Darnestown Road and Quince Orchard Road. Gaithersburg police said the teen was not in the crosswalk when he was struck.

The teen was taken to a hospital for treatment for minor injuries. Police are still investigating the accident.
