    A 14-year-old Culpeper boy was shot Monday night in the bedroom of another boy his age, according to Culpeper Police.

    The victim is in stable condition at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, his parents said. He was transferred there from Culpeper Regional Hospital with a non life-threatening gunshot wound to the back.

    Culpeper Police say the shooting happened around 8 p.m. Monday at a home in the 400 block of West Chandler Street.

    A 14-year-old resident of the home was in his bedroom with the victim when the shooting occurred, police said.

    The investigation is ongoing, police said. No charges have been filed at this time.
