Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred in the 5700 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest.
Police officers were on patrol in the 5700 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest, Friday evening when they were informed of a shooting in the area. Officers found a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds.
The victim, identified as Anthony Davon Benson, 17, of Oxon Hill, Maryland, was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
Investigators are still searching for clues in the case.
