Teen Killed in High Speed Crash in Frederick Co.

A teen was killed after his car left the roadway and overturned several times in Frederick County, Md., Saturday morning.

The Maryland State Police said Matthew Lloyd Shook, 19, of Adamstown, Md., died after his 1993 Honda Civic crashed on westbound US Route 340/15, west of Mount Zion Road. Police said his car was traveling at a high rate of speed at the time of the crash.

Shook was flown to University of Maryland Shock Trauma in Baltimore, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said their preliminary investigation indicates alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
