Teen Charged With Abduction, Assault of Toddler

A 16-year-old Springfield, Va., resident has been arrested and accused of taking a 5-year-old girl from her home during the night and sexually assaulting her, according to Fairfax County Police.

Police say that the 16-year-old broke into a townhouse in the 7000 block of Brocton Court in Franconia, Va., during the early morning hours on Aug. 27, and took the girl from her bed.

The girl was taken somewhere nearby and eventually made her way back to the home, said police.  She was then taken to the hospital, where she was examined and treated.

The 16-year-old has been charged with burglary with intent to commit a felony, abduction with the intent to defile, aggravated malicious wounding and object sexual penetration.  Police did not provide a description of the teen.
