A Hamden teen has been charged in a series of home invasions and burglaries.

Officials say an 18-year-old has been arrested in connection with a burglary and attempted sexual assault in Northeast D.C.

The incident was reported at approximately 4 a.m. June 5 in the 2400 block of 2nd Street. Two men entered the home, one carrying a knife and the other a handgun.

The men took iPhones, laptop computers and money before the gunman attempted to rape a woman. Her husband intervened.

The altercation moved downstairs to the kitchen, where the gunman fired through the wall into the rowhouse next door, where an 18-year-old woman was sleeping on a couch. She was not injured.

The burglars then fled the home.
