Police have charged a private school teacher with second-degree rape and child abuse, and they're trying to find out if there are more victims.
Fernando Asturizaga, 44, of Montpelier, Vt., is charged in connection with a case dating back to 1999.
The victim was a 10-year old girl at a private school in Prince George's County, said Montgomery County police. The suspect babysat the victim at her Silver Spring home and at a Bethesda location, where the assaults occurred, said police.
The investigation yielded police a substantial amount of evidence to charge Asturizaga with these crimes. He is jailed in Montgomery County on $100,000 bond.
