The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office has identified the body of a man found floating in the Rappahannock River.

A couple walking in the Old Mill Park area saw the body in the banks of the river at 3 p.m. The couple  pulled the body to shore and called 911.

The man has been identified as 56-year-old Jose Hernandez of Fredricksburg. His family says they last saw him on July 4.

Hernandez's body was sent to the medical examiner's office in Richmond to determine a cause of death.
