The body of a missing 16-year-old swimmer has been recovered from a Fairfax County lake.
Search teams found Jeremie Munga's body in Lake Barcroft near Bailey's Crossroads just before 3 a.m. Friday.
A friend of Munga told News4 they were on a boat with their friends when the 16-year-old jumped off the boat into the water at about 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
"One second he's there and the next second he's not," the friend said.
Fairfax County fire and rescue crews searched through the night for Munga, transitioning their search from a rescue mission to a recovery effort after about four hours.
Munga's friend described him as athletic and a good swimmer.
